¿Hasta dónde llegarías por sentirte completo?
Modificar el cuerpo no es algo tan ajeno como lo podríamos creer. Tus lentes, tus piercings, tus tatuajes, todos son modificaciones. Pero cuando las modificaciones corporales también modifican tu subjetividad, cuando te dejan vulnerable, cuando comienzas a volverte un fenómeno para tantos, se vuelve una conversación distinta.
Acaban de decirme que haberme modificado tuvo un costo que ahora debo pagar con otra modificación que no quiero. ¿Habrá un momento donde este proceso se detenga? ¿O una vez que decidí ir contra la naturaleza como tantos pensaron, ya no hay vuelta atrás a una estabilidad?
¿Estaré ahora por siempre teniendo que agregar una modificación sobre otra? ¿Intercambiando mis piezas, hackeando mi código, agregando nuevos mecanismos? ¿Y cuál será el nuevo precio de hacer eso?
Sólo me queda aceptarlo. Por siempre en tránsito, por siempre incompleto.

How far would you go to feel complete?
Modification of the body is not as foreign as we might think. Your glasses, your piercings, your tattoos, they’re all modifications. But when body modifications also modify your subjectivity, when they leave you vulnerable, when you start to become a freak to so many, it becomes a different conversation.
I was just told that having modified myself had a cost that I must pay now with another modification that I don’t want. Will there ever be a moment where this process stops? Or once I decided to go against nature like so many thought, there is no going back to stability?
Will I now forever be having to add one modification on top of another? Interchanging my parts, hacking my code, adding new mechanisms? And what will be the new price of doing so?
All that remains is to embrace this. Forever in transit, forever incomplete.
